Agatha Christie is called the Queen of Crime Fiction, and rightly so. Mind boggling, eerie, electric are understatements that barely do justice to her work. Crime fiction mainly stands on the pillar of narration- how the plot unfolds. In most of her books, two detectives, namely Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot are the revealers of crime and the related paraphernalia whereas the narration is in first person by an omniscient narrator or a principal character. 'The Murder of Roger Ackroyd'
Featuring French detective Hercule Poirot, this one is narrated by Dr.Sheppard who is a local physician of the village of King’s Abbot and is investigating the murder of a patient who died due to drug overdose. With a twisted ending and steady development, 'The Murder of Roger Ackroyd' is one of Christie’s best works and a shining example of the unreliable narrator.
