Royals from across the world who have also written books

The lives of royals have always fascinated and intrigued people across the world-- be it for their lifestyle, fashion sense or work. But did you know that many royals are avid readers and they have also written books? From children's books to novels to memoirs, here are some royals from across the world who have authored books.

Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, has written books about art, architecture, gardens and the environment. Some of his books are: 'Highgrove: An English Country Garden', 'The Prince's Speech: On the Future of Food', 'Climate Change' among others. His children's book 'The Old Man of Lochnagar' was published in 1980.

Maharani Gayatri Devi, the daughter of the Maharaja of Cooch Behar and the widow of the Maharaja of Jaipur, was considered as one of the most beautiful women of her time. She wrote 'A Princess Remembers: Memoirs of the Maharani of Jaipur' which was released in 1995.

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, launched her debut book 'Hold Still: A Portrait Of Our Nation In 2020'. Kate curated the book which has 100 pictures that showcase life during the covid pandemic in the UK.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has written her debut children's book 'The Bench' which will be out in June 2021. The book is about father-son bond, told through a mother's view point.

Dr Karan Singh, an heir apparent to Maharaja Hari Singh and Maharani Tara Devi of Jammu and Kashmir, has written roughly 20 books. They include: 'Population, Poverty and the Future of India'; 'Humanity at the Crossroads'; and 'An Examined Life: Essays and Reflections' among others.

Queen Rania of Jordan's has written a few books including 'The King's Gift' in 2000, 'Eternal Beauty' in 2008, and 'The Sandwich Swap' in 2010 which was a New York Times bestseller.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden co-authored 'Stella and the Secret', which was released in 2019. The book deals with the topic of child sexual abuse.

Late Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, wrote several books during his lifetime including: 'Down to Earth: Speeches and Writings of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh', 'A Question of Balance', 'Sandringham', 'Birds of Town and Village' among others.

Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew's ex-wife, has written several children's books. Some of her popular works include: Budgie books and TV show, 'Helping Hands' series, 'Tea with Ruby', 'The Royal Switch'. Her first historical romance novel 'Her Heart For A Compass' will be released in 2021.

The Earl of Snowdon has written books on furniture and interior design. He is the founder Linley, a furniture company, and so has an expertise in this field of work.

Marie-Chantal, Crown Princess of Greece, has written her first book 'Manners Start at Breakfast: The Essential Guide to Modern Manners' which was released in 2020. The etiquette book is a guide for parents to raise well-rounded children.
