By now we have probably watched and re-watched Wonder Woman and applauded at the long-due representation of such a powerful and inspirational superhero. Our favourite comic books have long been portraying female leads as strong fighters of crime and protectors of the good, the innocents, and the helpless. But the movie industry is yet to show us a superhero movie with a female in the lead as formidable and zealous as Wonder Woman. Here is a list of 10 of the coolest female superheroes who most definitely deserve the leading role in a stand-alone movie.

Black Widow

Natasha Romanova aka Black Widow is an expert spy, athlete, and assassin. Trained at a young age by the KGB's infamous Red Room Academy, the Black Widow was formerly an enemy to the Avengers. She later became their ally after breaking out of the U.S.S.R.'s grasp, and also serves as a top S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Black Widow definitely needs to be an independent movie, perhaps a spin-off from The Avengers would be great!
