Taj Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad, India

This grand palatial hotel built in 1894 will not only give you regal vibes, but also features over 5,000 volumes of rare books and manuscripts. The hotel’s website points out that one would have to read a book a day for more than 16 years to go through the entire collection!

Each room in this brilliant literature-themed hotel is inspired by a classic or contemporary author including Agatha Christie, Mark Twain, J. K. Rowling, Dr. Seuss, John Steinbeck, Shakespeare, Jules Verne, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Gertrude Stein. Get lost in the wonders of literature and its true feels with no Wi-Fi, television, or phones – just a large library filled with books.

This boutique resort has an enviable minimalist library. You can lend books and read by the poolside or even at a gorgeous Chaweng Beach, which is nearby.

The Heathman Hotel, Portland, Oregon

This wonderful place actually has a literary curator on staff, since the Heathman needs someone to oversee its growing collection of books. The hotel has a lending library that specializes autographed editions. The collection includes more than 2,700 books signed by Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize winners, U.S. Poet Laureates, a former US president, and other authors who have stayed at the hotel. The Heathman also opens the library’s bookshelves four nights a week, to its patrons and offers complimentary wine!

Each room in the boutique hotel is decorated based on different sections of the Dewey Decimal System of library arrangement. This book lover’s retreat is just six blocks from the main branch of the New York Public Library.

The Commons Hotel, Minneapolis, MN

This chic boutique hotel was founded in 1925, by a group of young writers who gathered daily for lunch at the hotel restaurant -- Dorothy Parker, Robert Benchley and Alexander Woollcott. Standing on the University of Minnesota campus, the hotel has resident "book butlers" who deliver books picked by guests from an in-room menu.
