Urvashi Rautela said ‘too much’ is the ultimate mood with not one but two extravagant gowns at Cannes 2026

Quiet luxury, who?

When we talk about the Cannes red carpet, Urvashi Rautela is always believed to be subtly overrated. Well, the diva certainly has her own aesthetic, which is surely not everyone’s cup of tea. Throwing fits like a pro in over-the-top sequins and shimmery charm, she reached peak maximalism in not one but two extravagant gowns at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 and has once again entered the fashion conversation quietly.

Urvashi’s 1st look decoded

Urvashi's first look involves a stunning velvet gown by Yoland Official. The label is known for its architectural silhouettes and featured a floor-length black ensemble with a plunging V-neckline, where the standout feature was its shimmery, silver-embroidered silhouette, which hugged her side curves and exuded a liquid-like pattern, creating a mock-caped-shoulder effect.

But the bag was the main character

She quickly elevated the look with a ‘dancing fish’ diamond necklace from La Marquise Jewellery, which came with an intricate ombré effect, and matched it with statement earrings and a stack of silver bangles. And then came her majestic-looking Judith Leiber crystal clutch, which had a lavish Rs 4.83 lakh price tag attached to it. This silver mini bag provided the right concentrated amount of bursts of light against the deep black fabric of her gown, which altogether gave the right glowing effects.

Urvashi’s second look of the hour

For her second look, she leaned towards a more avant-garde mermaid-core touch and picked a stunning piece from the Kuwaiti label Qirat. This stunning gown featured a peplum waist with an off-shoulder sweetheart neckline. It featured horizontal sheer panels with rhinestone-studded bands, which created a tiered, hypnotic effect. The shimmery mesh fabric looked like a net of stars, where the side-swept hairstyle and glamorous makeup ensured a match to her ensemble’s look. She completed the look with the champagne version of the same Judith Leiber crystal clutch and stood unapologetically, screaming drama and peak glam.

She dramatically occupied Cannes in two OTT gowns

Playing around with larger-than-life silhouettes to eye-catching embellishments, Urvashi turned the prestigious red carpet into her own theatrical runway. She proved that she never enters a fashion conversation quietly and has no meaning for 'quiet luxury' in her fashion playbook. She’s the definition of couture and chaos and only knows how to deliver pure headline energy like no other. And, honestly, Cannes may never recover from this.

Let us know whether you like her looks or not in the comments below.
