Venus Williams weds Andrea Preti: Bride Venus Williams stuns in the most gorgeous wedding gown by Georges Hobeika
Venus Williams is officially married, and yes, she did it her way. After a dreamy celebration in Ischia, Italy, back in September, the tennis icon quietly made it official with actor Andrea Preti in a courthouse ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida, on December 19. Small, intimate, and full of meaning. And as Venus later shared with Vogue, this second ceremony turned out to be just as emotional, if not more.
For the Florida wedding, Venus went with a custom Georges Hobeika gown that balanced softness and strength beautifully. The dress had a structured corset-style bodice with a sweetheart neckline and delicate straps, giving it shape without feeling heavy. The real magic was in the details. Ornate white embroidery and lace were layered over a semi-sheer nude base, creating a look that felt romantic but still bold.
The silhouette stayed fitted through the body before opening up at the knees into a clean, white silk train. It was crisp, elegant, and perfectly finished with a long tulle veil that flowed well past the train. She kept her jewellery simple with a diamond necklace and matching studs. Venus described the gown as almost reflective of her surroundings, saying the sparkle and transparency reminded her of the sea.
Getting to that final dress wasn’t exactly easy. Venus revealed that she couldn’t even try on a sample at first, which led to a last-minute fitting during Paris Fashion Week. She squeezed it in during a quick trip, took a chance, and it paid off. When her sister Isha Price finally saw the dress in person, she got emotional. That moment, Venus said, sealed it.
For beauty, Venus kept things timeless. She worked with celebrity manicurist Gina Edwards for her bridal nails, wore her hair in a sleek side part, and opted for glowing, natural makeup that didn’t distract from the look.
The courthouse gown may have been the standout, but it wasn’t the only outfit in her bridal lineup. Venus revealed that several designers, including Natali and Meital, Veni Infantino, and Eve of Milady, were part of her wedding wardrobe. She even planned a relaxed exit look, a short skirt and top paired with a custom headpiece, for a private breakfast celebration afterward.
Looking back on the Palm Beach ceremony, Venus described it as deeply personal and emotional, separate from the Italian festivities in the best way. It wasn’t about the spectacle. It was about the moment. And for her, that day now sits just below the best day of her life.
