Make these 5 appetizing snacks with leftover roti

Even after planning the lunch well, there might be instances where you are left with 1-2 extra rotis. It is better to utilise these extra chapatis, instead of wasting them by throwing them in the bin. There are several lip-smacking snacks that you can prepare with chapatis by giving them a little makeover. So, the next time if you are left with some extra rotis, these are the recipes that you must try.

2/6

Chapati Pizza

Don’t have a pizza base and are too lazy to make one? Leftover chapatis are here at your disposal. Just take the roti and spread sauces of your choice. You can use ketchup, pizza sauce, mayonnaise, chipotle and several others. Now top the base with veggies such as tomatoes, capsicum, corns and onions. Now grate some cheese and sprinkle some oregano on it. Just place the roti pizza in a greased pan and cover the lid. Keep the flame low. Let it sit for 3-4 minutes, until the cheese melts and you are done. Make sure the rotis are a bit thick, as thin rotis might become hard.

3/6

Kathi Roll

Kathi roll is probably the easiest and the most tried recipe made with leftover rotis. Either use the leftover sabzi and top it with some chopped onions for the added crunch, or you can also choose paneer, egg or any other veggie combination of your choice. A little bit of ketchup, mayonnaise or even mint chutney can amp up the flavour of your kathi roll in a jiffy.

4/6

Roti Noodles

Ditch the usual maida noodles and try roti noodles, which are not only healthier but also different in taste. Take the leftover rotis and cut them into thin and long strips. Now heart up a pan and add chopped garlic, onions, carrots, capsicum and cabbage. Add a tablespoon of soya sauce and red chilli sauce to give them a street style flavour. Add salt and pepper according to your taste. Give a final toss to everything and add the roti noodles. Gently mix it with the vegetables. Don’t mix much, as it might break the roti noodles.

5/6

Chapati Poha

Give your usual poha a unique twist and use leftover chapatis to prepare roti poha. For this, prepare the tadka of your choice by heating oil in a pan and adding mustard seeds, curry leaves, onions, turmeric, amchur powder and garam masala. You can also add chopped carrot and capsicum. Now break the roti into small pieces and add it to the pan. Mix everything well and garnish with lemon juice and coriander. Make sure the rotis are soft. If not, grease them with butter and warm them up a bit.

6/6

Tacos

Do you know that you can now enjoy homemade tacos, that too with the filling of your choice? Just take your leftover rotis and brush them lightly with butter. Now place them in the oven for 3-4 minutes at 180-200 degrees Fahrenheit. You can also fold them from sides before keeping in the oven, if you wish them to give a half-moon shape.
