However, over the years the narrative has changed and experts are now suggesting detox therapy and natural ways to combat as well as reverse cardiac ailments and prevent heart attacks.”

​​Is it possible to reduce blockages of arteries? ​


As per Dr. Chhajer, it is possible to prevent as well as reverse cardiovascular ailments and blockages by adapting some healthy and sustainable measures, which includes discarding several foods, inclusion of exercise and yoga. Apart from that, Dr. Chhajer also suggests five common foods that work towards reducing the blockage of arteries. Here’s all you need to follow to reverse heart ailments.

​​Things to remove from diet?​


Atherosclerosis is a condition in which the arteries turn thick and obstruct the flow of blood to the heart, which eventually leads to cardiac ailments and heart attacks. As per Dr. Bimal, "The first and foremost way towards reversal should be discarding certain foods that are high in fats and may raise LDL cholesterol levels such as oil, non-veg, dry fruits and nuts."

He further recommends moving towards a healthy lifestyle, which includes 30 minutes of yoga and 35 minutes of brisk walk on a regular basis.
