From pumpkin to strawberry and cupcake to cheesecake, here are some of the world’s largest foods that have been created purposely. Strawberry

Recently, strawberry is in news because of their size and weight. Well, Ariel Chahi from the Kadima-Zoran area of Israel, has grown the biggest strawberry in the world which weighs around 289 grams. The size and weight led to its mention in the Guinness World Record and according to the GWR website, it is the world's biggest and heaviest strawberry produced till now. The strawberry is 18 cm long, 4 cm thick, and 34 cm in circumference. The news was shared on the official Instagram page of Guinness World Record.

Pumpkin

According to the Guinness World Record website, a new record was made by Stefano Cutrupi a farmer from Tuscany in March 2021, where the world’s heaviest pumpkin was grown and the Atlantic Giant Pumpkin weighed at 1,226 kgs. The assessment was made by representatives from the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth. It surpassed the earlier record of the pumpkin that weighed around 1190.49 kgs.

Fruit Cake

In May 2014, a new Guinness World Record was set in which Dr. Fabrizio Sepe of Italy made the largest fruit cake along with 19 people in Hodenhagen, Germany. The cake weighed 4,353 kgs and was 12 m long with 8 m wide. The team of 20 worked 250 hours to bake this cake in around 440 trays, and it was made to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the zoo. This fruit cake was made of strawberries, peaches, ananas, tangerines, milk, flour, sugar, gelatine, butter, cream powder, eggs, oil, and baking powder. (Image courtesy: iStock)

Cupcake

According to the GWR website, the largest cupcake was made in November 2011 by Georgetown Cupcake (The USA), which is Washington DC’s first gourmet cupcake bakery. The cupcake weighed 1,176.6 kgs. It was 36 inches tall with a diameter of 56 inches. The oven and pan used for making this cupcake were custom made.

Vegan Burger

In November 2021, the world’s largest vegan burger was made by Finnebrogue Artisan of Northern Ireland at the Finnebrogue CGR site. The burger weighed 162.5 kgs and was made of a patty that was a scaled-up version of the Naked Evolution Burger. The patty was topped with vegan bacon, crispy onions, vegan cheese, burger sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. All the veggies and vegan patty were clubbed together in a scaled-up bun.

Pizza

As per the GWR website, a pizza named ‘Ottavia’ was made by 5 Italian chefs from NIPfood (Dovilio Nardi, Andrea Mannocchi, Marco Nardi, Matteo Nardi and Matteo Giannotte) in December 2012 in Rome, Italy. With a total surface area of 13,580.28 square feet, this pizza was made completely gluten-free.

Cheesecake

Created by Cheeseberry Company (Russian Federation), the world’s largest cheesecake was made in September 2017 in Stavropol, Russian Federation to celebrate the city’s 240th birthday. With a height of 2 ft 9 in and a width of 9 ft 2 in, the cheesecake weighed 4,240 kgs.
