Mumbai hotel charging Rs 1,700 for two boiled eggs​

If you remember, a couple of weeks back Bollywood actor Rahul Bose trolled a Chandigarh-based luxury hotel for charging Rs 442 for 2 bananas. In the same league, recently a Twitter user showed bill of Mumbai hotel charging Rs 1,700 for two boiled eggs, where he also tagged Rahul Bose, asking if they should launch a protest on the subject.

Recently, a Twitter user named Kartik Dhar took to the social media platform and shared an image of the bill at a luxury hotel, where he was charged Rs 1700 for two boiled eggs. In the tweet, Dhar writes 2 eggs for Rs 1700 at the @FourSeasons Mumbai. @RahulBose1 Bhai Aandolan karein?"

The bill shared by Kartik also shows omelette priced at Rs 850 and Diet Coke for Rs 260 in the hotel.

FHRAI’s take

This incident might remind you that the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) had justified the high price. “A hotel offers service, quality, plate, cutlery, accompaniment, sanitised fruit, ambience and luxury and not the commodity alone,” FHRAI vice president Gurbaxish Singh Kohli had said.
