Gudi Padwa marks the beginning of Marathi New Year. And like any other festival of India, this one is incomplete without the dose of delectable treats of the region. Take a look at the traditional dishes prepared on this occasion to celebrate the beginning of the new year.

It is an integral part of the celebration, where people consume a mixture of neem leaves and jaggery, and it also uses tamarind and spices. It is usually the first thing eaten on the day, setting a meaningful tone for the year ahead.

It refers to a flatbread roasted on a griddle and made with flour dough, stuffed with cooked chana dal, seasoned with jaggery, and cardamom powder.
