Flying through festivities: Navratri-inspired meals for travellers
Air India has introduced a specially curated Navratri menu for passengers on its flights, available until 30 September 2025. The menu is designed to follow traditional fasting customs while providing a balanced mix of taste, health, and comfort.
Travellers can choose from a variety of dishes across courses. The menu includes sabudana khichdi with salli, vratwale shahi aloo, singhade ki poori, sabudana wada, malai paneer tikka, tale aloo ki chaat, khatta meetha sitaphal, samak jeera rice, and phalahari Kheer as a dessert. Seasonal fresh fruits and vrat-friendly curd are also served, creating a wholesome festive dining experience onboard.
Each dish has been thoughtfully prepared to maintain both nutrition and flavour. The aim is to provide passengers with a meal that reflects the traditions of Navratri while offering comfort and satisfaction during travel. The menu is available on all flights departing from India during the nine-day festival.
The initiative highlights the effort to incorporate Indian cultural traditions into modern travel experiences. Passengers can enjoy meals that resonate with the festive season while remaining suitable for fasting practices. This approach combines attention to dietary needs with the celebration of traditional Indian cuisine, making travel during Navratri more enjoyable and meaningful.
