The entire nation is gearing up for the big day of Ram Mandir consecration that will take place on January 22 in Ayodhya. Keeping the same in mind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will take part in the rituals, has announced to undertake an 11-day sattvi diet as a part of the ritual ahead of the Pran Pratistha ceremony. He announced it through an audio message on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Only 11 days left for the consecration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. It is my honour to witness this pure, historic moment," he stated in the audio message. He also mentioned that, as a part of the ritual, he will sleep on the floor, perform jaap and meditation, read religious scriptures, and eat sattvic food in small quantities. In the audio message, he also mentioned that fasting plays an important role before the consecration ceremony, and as per the guidance of the experts, he has initiated an 11-day observance to awaken his soul and be fully dedicated to the supreme power. What is a Sattvic Diet?The Sattvic diet refers to pure vegetarian food, which includes fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, pulses, jaggery, sugar, milk, and other dairy products. Also, sattvic diet preparation avoids the use of onions and garlic. As per experts, sattvic foods are part of a yogic diet that emphasizes purity, clarity of mind, and spiritual well-being.
These foods are believed to promote physical health and mental balance. It is also believed that vegetarian food helps boost the immunity and overall health of the human body.

Include a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables in your diet, such as apples, bananas, berries, leafy greens, carrots, and cucumbers. Whole Grains: Whole grains are a good source of complex carbohydrates and fiber. Sattvic grains include brown rice, quinoa, millet, and oats. These grains provide sustained energy and are easy to digest. Legumes and Pulses: Legumes and pulses are rich in protein and are a staple in a sattvic diet. Examples include lentils, chickpeas, mung beans, and black-eyed peas. These provide essential nutrients without being overly heavy. Nuts and Seeds: Nuts and seeds are nutrient-dense and provide healthy fats, proteins, and various vitamins and minerals. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, and chia seeds are considered sattvic. They can be consumed as snacks or added to meals.
