International No Diet Day!

Come May 6 and the world celebrates ‘International No Diet Day’. This day is actually dedicated to celebrating body acceptance, including fat acceptance and body shape diversity. According to experts, the day is also dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle with a focus on eating everything and enjoying all flavours of life. To celebrate this day, a team of chefs headed by Executive chef of 180 degrees, Radisson Goregaon, Mumbai prepared a gigantic samosa weighing 5.3 Kg. Now, this is what we call true love for food. If you are a samosa lover, this 5-kg delight will surely bowl you over.

The gigantic samosa preparation

Speaking about this innovation, Chef Kamlesh Rawat, Executive Chef, Radisson Goregaon said, “An occasional like ‘No diet day’ calls for something truly mouth-watering and keeping that in mind we thought of creating a 5 kilograms samosa, as a treat to India taste buds.” According to Kamlesh, the preparation of this gigantic Samosa required 6-pair of hands and 4 hours.

What was the feedback?

Impressed by the idea and look of the samosa, TV actress Tina Philip who is currently doing Ek Brahma Sarwagurna Sampann reached the hotel and could not stop praising the efforts of the chef and his team. She joyfully said "I am usually very strict about my diet but on no diet day I want to break the regime and indulge in this gigantic samosa which is truly mouthwatering and a small wonder in itself. "

Recipe of gigantic samosa

Chef Kamlesh shared the recipe of this simple and delicious snack that requires 2 and 1/2 kilo refined flour mixed with 300 grams desi ghee or refined oil. To which 5 grams of salt and ajwain each are added. For stuffing, 2 kilograms of boiled potato, 250 grams green peas,, 25 grams green chilli and 5 grams of coriander seeds are required. Once the dough is ready and stuffing is filled in the triangular shape, the gigantic samosa is deep fried in 30 litres of refined oil. Once ready, the golden brown triangular delight is served hot with green chutney and ketchup.
