How foods help reduce arthritis pain

As we age, our bodies demand extra care and nourishment. One of the most common issues that arises with advancing years is arthritis pain—a condition marked by swelling and tenderness in one or more joints. The hallmark symptoms are joint pain and stiffness, which often intensify with age. Traditionally associated with older adults, arthritis pain is now affecting younger generations as well, thanks to mounting stress, irregular diets, and erratic sleep patterns. In a recent Instagram and Youtube video, nutritionist and author Rujuta Diwekar shared three foods that may help alleviate arthritis pain. Scroll down to find out what they are!

Nuts

As per Rujuta, instead of biscuits with chai, start eating nuts like peanuts, almonds, or walnuts. They are rich in minerals and healthy fats, which will keep your joints healthy and lubricated.

3/5

Chutneys

Traditional chutneys like coconut and garlic, flaxseeds, or coriander are rich in essential fatty acids that improve satiety, reduce overeating, and keep your joints healthy, says Rujuta.

4/5

Dahi or Chaas

Probiotics dahi or chaas help improve digestion, reduce acidity, reduce inflammation, and automatically boost the joints and reduce arthritis pain. According to Rujuta, apart from all this, 15 minutes of physical exercise and de-stressing on a daily basis are very important to reduce the arthritis pain.

Eat anti-inflammatory foods

It is also advised to eat more foods like fatty fish (salmon, sardines), leafy greens, nuts, and turmeric. These have natural anti-inflammatory powers that may help reduce joint pain.
