What is Uganda Rolex?
As per experts, Uganda Rolex, commonly known as Rolex, is a popular dish of Uganda, which is made of egg omelette and vegetables, wrapped in a chapati. It is believed that the dish was first popularized by a food vendor, who sold it to hungry students from Kampala's famous Makerere University. Why is it called a Rolex?

Rolex makes it to the Guinness World Records
As per the GWR website, the largest Ugandan Rolex weighing 204.6 kg (451 lb) was created by Raymond Kahuma (Uganda), in Kasokoso, Wakiso District, Uganda recently. The website statement reads, "Raymond and his team had been working for months on the preparation of the record to make sure everything went smoothly on the day. The Ugandan Rolex measured 2.32 meters in length and 0.66 meters at its thickest diameter."
The giant Rolex was made by a team of 60 people with 1200 eggs, 90kg of vegetables (onions, tomatoes, cabbages, carrots, and peppers), 72 kg of flour, and 40 kg of cooking oil. Raymond is a YouTuber, who along with his team took 14 hours for mixing, kneading, chopping, and frying in a temporary outdoor kitchen. (Image: istock)
How to make Rolex
In a mug, add 2 eggs, 1/2 chopped tomatoes, 1 chopped onion, 2 tbsp cilantro, salt and pepper to taste. Beat the mixture and pour it on a hot tawa to make an omelette. Use enough cooking oil and cook till the omelette turns golden brown from both sides. Place it on a cooked reheated chapati, roll them up and enjoy. (Image: istock)
