Ways to cook chicken breast

Chicken breast has proven to be one of the most efficient sources of protein time and again. It is also low in fat which makes it all the more beneficial for our bodies. Chicken breasts are also known to help the body in building muscle mass which in turn helps muscle growth. That’s why you see those bulky dudes at the gym always talking about them. It also rich in selenium, vitamin B6 and niacin which is good for overall body functioning. While most of us are aware of these benefits, the only thing that stops us from having chicken breasts on a daily basis is the complexity that is involved in cooking them. To cook a full piece boneless chicken breast is more complicated than cooking it with bones. It either cooks too much which makes it too chewy, or it never cooks through leaving the outer portion charred and the inner portion raw. Most of us have been there and done that. How about us telling you that there are uncomplicated ways to cook chicken breast that will not only cook the chicken through, will also keep the taste and texture intact? Here are 5 ways you can cook chicken breasts to perfection:

2/6

Pan sear

Although all the techniques mentioned are easy, this one’s our favourite. All you need to do is dry brine your chicken breast and keep it for either 30 minutes or overnight. Add some oil to the pan and pat dry the chicken breast. Once the oil is hot, place the chicken breast in the pan and cook it for 9 minutes, untouched. After 9 minutes, add a cube of butter and cook for another minute. Turn the side and cook for 6 minutes. Place on a sheet and let it rest for 3-4 minutes before cutting in. You can season the chicken breast with some black pepper while it is cooking.

3/6

Brown, cover, and cook on low

This technique requires you to pound the chicken first before cooking and season it with some salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the pan once the oil is hot and cook for 1 minute. Change the side and cook for 10 minutes on low flame and with the pan covered. Once done, let the chicken rest while covered for another 10 minutes. This will cook the chicken through and will help the juices stay intact.

4/6

Airfry

Pound the chicken breasts so that they cook evenly. You can choose to brine the chicken breasts but they cook just fine even if you don’t. Take the pounded chicken breasts and rub on some oil and seasoning on them properly. Pop them in the air fryer and cook for 15-20 minutes and serve! The juices and texture of the chicken stay intact and it is one of the fastest ways to cook chicken breasts.

5/6

Brown and then bake

You start by pounding the chicken breast to bring to an equal level, season it with some salt and pepper. Heat some oil in a pan and cook both sides for 1 minute. Once done, add some chicken stock in the pan, cover and put the skillet in the oven. Let it cook for 8 minutes on 150-degree celsius. Finally, take the pan out of the oven and let the chicken come to room temperature before you cut and serve.

6/6

Pan grill

The easiest and quickest of all, this technique requires you to use chicken breasts that are smaller in size. You can choose to leave out pounding in this method. Drizzle the chicken breasts with some oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill on the grill pan for 3 minutes on each side. Once done, place the chicken breast on a tented foil paper and let it rest for 3-4 minutes. Serve and enjoy juicy, soft chicken!
