What makes bhutta the perfect monsoon snack

Come monsoon, and one can find small shacks selling bhuttas in every corner of the road. Although sweet corns are available throughout the year, the monsoon months are the only time when we get to taste the freshness of the juicy delicacy straight out of the corn fields. Monsoons remain incomplete without having corn in the afternoon. The aroma is such that one cannot stop themselves from stopping their car at the first sight of a bhutta wala down the road. Here is why one can munch on this favourite monsoon snack as much as they want, without feeling guilty about it.

2/4

Bhuttas are healthy

Bhuttas are either roasted or steamed and are not fried. Instead of consuming deep fried pakoras on a rainy evening, one can have roasted bhutta which is a yummier and healthier option. Unlike other road side snacks, bhuttas can never cause you any trouble. One can spice up their bhutta according to their own taste. Be it adding extra lemon juice or smothering it with garlic chutney, bhutta remains a healthy snack until and unless someone adds huge dollops of butter to it.

3/4

Full of Vitamins

Bhuttas are rich in Vitamin A, making them good for our eyes. Corn cobs are also known to be full of Vitamin C, which makes our skin glow and wrinkle free. Apart from being rich in Vitamin A and C, bhuttas are also rich in Vitamin B1, which helps your brain function properly. Consuming bhuttas can thus sharpen your memory. Corns also are rich in nutrients that are good for healthy and strong hair.

4/4

Spoiled with choices!

The number of things you can do with a single corn cob is unbelievable. Apart from roasting them, one can also make a quick corn chaat with the small kernels. Corn chaat is not only yummy, but the addition of other veggies add colours and nutrients to it. Even after steaming the cob, you can either have it as it is or put it into your soup for a healthy dinner

Bhutta being rich in all these nutrients and vitamins, makes for a safe snacking option for us to have, guilt free. Be it on a road trip or just a rainy evening , eat your bhuttas, just the way you like!
