Your summer diet must include these foods

The summer season is the ideal time to stock up on tasty and healthful seasonal favourites like mangoes. The six summer foods listed below are the ones you should eat during the hot season for the best health.

2/6

Cucumber

In this blazing summer heat, would you like to feel as cool as a cucumber? To your salad tray, add these tangy, crunchy fruits (yes, it's a fruit!). Calories, carbs, salt, fat, and cholesterol are all naturally low in cucumbers. Additionally, since they contain 95% water, they naturally hydrate, which is essential for staying cool.

3/6

Watermelon

One of the most hydrating summer foods is luscious, refreshing watermelon. In addition, the attractive red colour indicates that it is a concentrated supply of lycopene, the same heart-protective substance seen in tomatoes. Try watermelon drizzled with olive oil in a sweet and savoury summer salad or brush it with oil and grill it since you absorb more lycopene when you eat it with fat.

4/6

Corn

Corn is a carb-heavy food that is also rich in fibre, vitamins, and minerals. However, it also has a low protein and fat content, which makes it a fantastic summertime side dish or snack. Lutein and zeaxanthin, two carotenoids that may shield against cataracts and age-related macular degeneration, are abundant in corn.

5/6

Cherries

One of the most pleasant fruits to enjoy in the summer heat are cherries. Particularly abundant in polyphenols, a broad class of plant compounds that protect against cellular damage, lessen inflammation, and advance general health, are cherries.

6/6

Melons

Is there anything more scrumptious in the summer than chomping some chilled melon? A traditional Fourth of July side dish must-have is watermelon. You will receive a significant amount of vitamin C whether you choose cantaloupe, or honeydew.
