Can solar storm happening today affect your health

What is a solar storm

A solar storm is a result of things that happen on the Earth’ surface and close to the sun. When the sun emits huge amounts of energy as solar flares and CME’s (coronal mass ejection), it sends electric and magnetic waves towards the Earth. They start with a huge explosion that happens on the sun and then moves closer to the Earth.
These solar storms usually result in the ‘northern light’ phenomena but can also result in problems with signals, satellite and radio.

Is a solar storm going to happen today?

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued an alert for a geomagnetic storm that is anticipated on December 1. This storm, originating from ‘cannibal CMEs’, is suspected to affect radio signals and GPS. The solar storm is predicted to strike Earth on the night of November 30, concluding in the early morning of December 1. According to NASA, the solar storm might produce vibrant auroras in the night sky and potential radio disruptions similar to earlier occurrences this week.
NASA cautioned that the CME is expected to involve a 15-hour-long G2-class solar flare.

Potential health problems from the solar storm

While many studies have claimed and are doubtful about the effects that solar flares can have on people’s health, the effects on radio signals and satellites are proven. But, according to ancient knowledge and some new studies, there are claims that solar flares do affect your health in some way. It is commonly said that solar storms bring with them some or the other forms of mood swings, headaches, increase in blood pressure and the likes. While astrology mentions that the changing energies affect your mood and energy levels which makes it difficult to comprehend your feelings, a study titled ‘Long-Term Study of Heart Rate Variability Responses to Changes in the Solar and Geomagnetic Environment’ hints to something similar. The study mentions, “Increase in solar wind intensity was correlated with increases in heart rate, which we interpret as a biological stress response.”

Increased mood swings and possible irritability

During solar storms, people have noticed shifts and changes in their energy patterns throughout the day. As the storm hits closer and the shifts happen, people who are more emotionally and mentally stressed experience more problems. Thus, it is suggested for people to meditate during the storm or even concentrate on things that are important to them. It is also advised to keep your energies positive as mood swings are predicted to hit you really bad through that time.
So, during the solar storm, if you feel like your health or energy is dwindling a lot, try to remain calm and keep your mind clutter free. The more calm and composed you are, the better your health will remain.

Other health issues

The study also mentions how “geomagnetic and solar influences affect a wide range of human behavioral and health outcomes with the nervous and cardiovascular systems being the most clearly impacted.” Further, with respect to hormone changes, it mentions that “It appears that sharp or sudden variations in geomagnetic and solar activity as well as geomagnetic storms can act as stressors, which alter regulatory processes such as melatonin/serotonin balance, blood pressure, breathing, reproductive, immune, neurological, and cardiac system processes.”
The study also talks about how disturbances in geomagnetic activity have been linked to the worsening of pre-existing health conditions and research indicating a connection between heightened geomagnetic activity and significant increases in cardiac arrhythmia, cardiovascular disease, incidents of myocardial infarction-related mortality, alterations in blood flow, elevated blood pressure, and occurrences of epileptic seizures.

A change in consciousness

Building on the shifts in energy and waves, these sun storms also cause problems when it comes to a person’s mood and energy in general. Many people claim and have experienced problems during these energy shifts and those who were already disturbed can feel even more overwhelmed. According to Sadhguru, “whenever such changes happen in the sun or in the pattern of the way the sun functions, always it has been found phenomenal changes happen in human consciousness. If you were psychologically fragile, then you would distinctly notice it. People who are psychologically imbalanced for some reason, on that day they will find they are much more imbalanced.”
