Unusual side-effects reported with the Oxford-Astrazeneca COVID jab

Oxford-Astrazeneca has been in the middle of hot water of late, ever since authorities observed a strange reaction with the vaccine- the appearance of sudden blood clots.

With investigation still underway and several countries having briefly halted the use, the vaccine, marketed as Covishield in India is known to cause some side-effects, which are less commonly seen with other vaccines right now.

It should be noted that the vaccine is no less safe than the others and carries a good efficacy rate. Even so, since it remains to be one of the most administrated vaccines right now, awareness will help you prepare well. We tell you about some side-effects which can be expected with the Oxford jab.

2/7

What are the common side-effects of the vaccine?

Side-effects with a vaccine are divided into three categories- very common, common and uncommon.

Uncommon or rare side-effects are the ones that affect one in a hundred people. Most people, through clinical testing and the current administration, have admittedly suffered from "common" side-effects, which are mild or moderate in nature and resolve in some days. These can range from chills, malaise, headache, tenderness, itching to muscle aches.

Uncommon ones can be sometimes mild, or severe and flag concerns. What exactly causes them is unclear, but some people can be predisposed to developing strange or allergic reactions.

Coming to the stranger side-effects witnessed by far, here's what you should know:

Coming to the stranger side-effects witnessed by far, here's what you should know:

4/7

Excessive sweating

Hyperhidrosis, or sweating more than normal is a reaction that could happen after you get a second jab of the Oxford vaccine. Sweating is also one of the ways your body tries to regulate temperature, so profuse sweating could possibly mean an inflammatory reaction that gets kicked off when antibodies are generated fast.

5/7

Abdominal cramps

Another strange side-effect noticed in some cases is stomach or abdominal pain. While the vaccine is known to cause muscle aches and cramps for some, abdominal pain is a possibility beneficiaries need to prepare themselves for. It can most possibly occur after the second shot is inoculated, which causes more intense reactions in the body.

Sudden, unusual abdominal pain can also cause nausea, loss of appetite and feel like malaise or sickness. Drink hydrating fluids and supplements to recharge your body and get the nutrition it needs to recover.

6/7

Enlarged lymph nodes

Perhaps possibly the strangest side-effect related to vaccination, doctors are now advising patients to not go for cancer screenings until after a month post vaccination.

The reason? The vaccine jab can create a swelling that would enlarge lymph nodes for some, that can resemble a common cancer symptom, further sparking off worries.

While there is no reason to suggest the link between vaccination and a symptom of this manner, swelling near the glands and the forearm is very commonly seen with vaccines. Some people could be therefore prone to developing an adverse reaction to the same. It's worth checking in with the doctor if you do happen to develop this unpleasant, worrisome symptom. Applying an ice compress or wet washcloth can help bring the redness or swelling down.

7/7

Itchiness on skin and rashes

Another uncommon side-effect to be prepared about is skin itching and redness. A possible sign of inflammation can happen that you experience a lot of redness, skin soreness and itchy patches on the skin. COVID arm is also a talked about symptom right now. If you are someone with sensitive skin, or prone to allergies, you should be careful.

P well here is a gods honest truth experience. It is fact. My wife went behind my back and got the shot. Now everytime I engage in oral sex with her, I have explosive diarea the nextday. And just this week I have developed 2 bloodclots in my leg. I am a gymfit person with no outside reasons that this should be happening. Beware anything in the body comes out in bodily fluids
