Mudit's father, a security man in the Civil Hospital, told TOI that his son never contracted COVID infection. He also told the media that he had taken two doses of vaccines and had no illnesses. Mudit was suffering from the rarest of rare kind of heart complications, a doctor, who was part of the autopsy team has told TOI. The doctor has said that due to the condition, he was suffering the left ventricular wall of his heart was very thick and there were no muscles on the other side and only fiber tissues. "Had he lived 2-3 years more, this part of his heart would have got ruptured," the doctor told the media outlet.

Left ventricular hypertrophy

The condition where the left ventricular wall of the heart thickens is medically referred to as left ventricular hypertrophy. It is a critical heart condition as the left ventricle is the main pumping chamber of the heart. This makes the heart difficult to pump blood. MayoClinic says, "Left ventricular hypertrophy itself doesn't cause symptoms. But symptoms may occur as the strain on the heart worsens."

What causes this condition?

Mutations in sarcomeric genes are one of the main causes of this type of cardiomyopathy.
