Here is how you can treat heat stroke at home

The scorching summer sun does not only makes us uncomfortable and sweaty but can also cause heat stroke. The sunlight sucks away all the energy and makes you feel weak and lethargic. Heat stroke is caused due to extreme dehydration and staying outdoors in the sun for a very long time. Here are a few things that you can do at home to get relief from heat stroke.

Buttermilk

Buttermilk is a refreshing drink and helps to cool down your body. It contains probiotics, proteins, and vitamins that replenish your body temperature.

How to prepare it: Blend 2 teaspoons of yogurt with a glass of water. Add salt and cumin powder according to your taste. Drink at least 1-2 glasses of buttermilk every day during summer.

Mung beans drink

As per traditional Chinese Medicine (TMC), mung beans are excellent to treat heat stroke. Boiled mung beans hydrate the body and also helps to lower down the body temperature.

How to have it: Add one cup of mung beans and three cups of water in a bowl and boil it. Remove the water in a different container and let it cool for a while. Drink this water two times a day.

Essential oils for heat stroke

Some essential oils work excellent for heat stroke. Lavender oil is soothing for skin and nerves. Peppermint oil helps to lower down the body temperature.

How to use it: Mix 2-3 drops of peppermint oil and 1-2 drops of lavender oil with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Apply this oil on the back of the neck, your soles and inside your wrists.

Onion juice

Onion juice is one of the best home remedies for treating heat stroke. As per Ayurveda, this should be the first thing you should have when you witness the symptoms of heat stroke.

How to use it: You can apply onion juice behind the ears, under the feet and chest and leave it on for a while. You can also drink a teaspoon of onion juice with a teaspoon of honey.

Tamarind Juice

Tamarind is rich in vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes. It provides essential nutrients to the body and helps to overcome the dehydration problem.

How to have it: Soak some tamarind in some boiling water. Strain the liquid and add sugar or honey to taste. Drink this concoction once it cools down.

Mango juice

Raw mango is excellent to get relief from heat stroke. It is a refreshing drink and a healthy drink.

How to have it: Boil raw mangoes in water. Once the mangoes are cooked, put some water and blend it nicely. Add salt, cumin, and sugar as per your taste.
