Tips to make delicious food healthy

In this Instagram age, even the most mundane foods seem appetizing enough. However, when it comes to the actually unhealthy yet super scrumptious food, you need to be careful. It is difficult to let go of temptation and therefore, here are some tricks which can make most drool worthy food healthy so that you don’t miss out on the fun:

2/6

Replace sugar with stevia

REPLACE SUGAR WITH STEVIA: It is difficult to keep your hands off desserts, be it Indian or continental. It is a myth that indulgence is always sinful. If you do it smartly, even sweet food can contribute towards your health. One such way is by replacing sugar with stevia. Whether you love a brownie or rasmalai, opting for stevia over sugar is your best deal.

3/6

Ditch refined flour for grain flours

DITCH REFINED FLOUR FOR GRAIN FLOURS: Absolutely cannot resist cakes and cookies? Go for multigrain versions of both. If your foodie tooth tends to tilt towards refined flour specialties, ask for them to be prepared in healthier flours such as coconut flour, rice flour or almond flour.

4/6

Substitute butter for nut butter

SUBSTITUTE BUTTER FOR NUT BUTTER: Butter makes food drool-worthy and hence cannot avoided. But, there is a trick that can actually make your food equally delectable as well as healthy. Rather than normal butter, go for nut butters like peanut butter or almond butter. The taste of your food will only get better and you will also not feel guilty about eating butter!

5/6

Dish out mayo for mustard

DISH OUT MAYO FOR MUSTARD: The most underrated dressing is mustard sauce. This yellow condiment packs many nutritional benefits including omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. Manufactured mayo usually contains excess oil and hidden fats to make it tasty. If you enjoy eating sandwiches and rolls, choose mustard over mayo.

6/6

Red sauce for white sauce

RED SAUCE FOR WHITE SAUCE: Pasta in any form is delicious but can load your plate with unhealthy elements as well. First, replace refined flour pasta with whole grain pasta. Second, ditch white sauce for red sauce. The former contains butter, refined flour and milk. This combination is not good for your body and hence should be avoided. Red sauce is healthier and keeps the flavour quotient of any Italian specialty intact.
