Eat these 5 snacks between 4 and 6 pm

The celebrity nutritionist, Rujuta Diwekar has always inspired us to stay healthy. Her emphasis on staying healthy rather than focusing on losing weight has helped many adopt a fit lifestyle. Whether it’s about introducing ghee to your diet or considering milk and rice good for your weight loss goals, Rujuta has broken many myths about various food items.

In her interviews, she has suggested planning at least three meals before leaving home for work. Rujuta says, “The biggest hindrance to healthy eating at the workplace is us, we ourselves.” She further says that people spend hours on planning what to wear to work but not what they would eat. Hence, to make it simple for many of us, she reveals healthy snacks that we can all eat between 4 and 6 pm. These foods include:

Handful of peanuts and chana

HANDFUL OF PEANUTS AND CHANA: Being a good source of vitamin E, niacin, folate, protein and manganese, peanuts and chana keep you satiated for a longer duration.

Makhana roasted in ghee with rock salt

MAKHANA ROASTED IN GHEE WITH ROCK SALT: Makhanas are a popular fasting food. They are a good source of protein, carbohydrates, phosphorus, iron, fibre, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. Being high in fibre and low in calories, it enables weight loss.

Fresh seasonal fruit or banana

FRESH SEASONAL FRUIT OR BANANA: Eating fresh seasonal food every day, as a snack is great for your health. Every fruit has health benefits and its existence in a specific season has a reason.

Chikki

CHIKKI: Chikki contains jaggery and it has many health benefits. From purifying blood, jaggery has natural cleansing properties which aids digestion.

Homemade chakli or murukku

HOMEMADE CHAKLI OR MURUKKU: Though it is a fried snack but making it in ghee is healthy for you. As it is prepared from rice flour, gram flour, wheat flour and a mixture of lentil flours, eating it in moderation as a snack is not a bad option.
