The tried-and-tested morning habits for faster weight loss!

Weight loss is a battle most of us have struggled with at some point in our life, with or without success. Weight gain usually is a combination of a lot of factors that include metabolism, age, gender, diet and exercise. However, while the process in itself might feel long and cumbersome, the fact of the matter is that some habits in your daily life can help you shed the flab faster. A fitness coach Amaka, who lost 25 kgs, shared these simple morning tips that can make your weight loss journey easier...

2/6

Wake Up Early and Hydrate

Start your day by waking up early. Early risers tend to be more active and make healthier choices throughout the day. Right after waking up, drink a glass of water. This helps kickstart your metabolism, flush out toxins, and reduce hunger. You can add a slice of lemon to your water for extra benefits like better digestion and a metabolism boost.

3/6

Move Your Body Every Morning

Exercise in the morning helps burn calories and speeds up weight loss. You don’t have to do anything complicated - a brisk 20-30 minute walk, light jogging, or skipping rope works well. Moving early also improves your mood and energy for the day. Consistent morning exercise helps your body burn fat more efficiently.

4/6

Eat a High-Protein Breakfast

Breakfast is important for weight loss. Eating foods rich in protein like eggs, cottage cheese, or nuts keeps you full longer and reduces cravings later. Protein helps build muscle and keeps your metabolism active. Avoid sugary cereals or pastries that can cause energy crashes and hunger soon after.

5/6

Practice Deep Breathing or Light Yoga

Taking a few minutes for deep breathing or simple yoga stretches in the morning can improve your metabolism and reduce stress. Breathing deeply helps oxygenate your body and supports fat burning. Yoga poses increase flexibility and circulation, which also aid weight loss.

6/6

Plan Your Day Mindfully

Spend a moment planning your meals and activities for the day. Setting clear goals helps you make better food choices and stay on track with your weight loss. Mindful eating-paying attention to hunger signals and eating slowly-can prevent overeating and improve digestion.
