5 Korean secrets to weight loss you can easily adapt!

The Koreans, known for their age-defying looks, svelte frame, tech advanced country, skin products, and of course K-pop, are a pretty popular community in the country. Apart from the fact that South Korea is a popular destination for Indians, Koreans are also known to be extremely particular about the way they look and dress up. Their meals, while nothing out of the ordinary, are clean and simple, helping them maintain their lean frame. Here are some Korean practices, you too, can adapt for weight loss (or just to get healthy)

2/6

Portion control

Koreans are rice eaters, and usually have rice for all three meals of the day - that includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, contrary to what people believe, rice does not make you gain weight. This apart, Koreans also practice portion control and do not go overboard with anything - to make sure they feel full even with a small portion, they load up on vegetables and lean meat.

3/6

Big on vegetables

Koreans are known to consume a lot of green leafy vegetables, and kimchi (fermented spiced cabbage) is a big part of every meal. No matter what form of carb they are taking, filling their plate with vegetables makes sure that they get in the much needed nutrition, along with a full stomach as well. This apart, Koreans also have raw and steamed vegetables, apart from cooked ones.

4/6

Whole, unprocessed foods

Even though Korean snacks and noodles are extremely popular, Koreans do not have it on a regular basis. Instead, they prefer to have whole, unprocessed food, that is free from preservatives, and is clean and nutritious to the body. This means limited consumption of packaged foods as well. This apart, Koreans have plenty of lean meats such as chicken and fish, while going easy on red meats.

5/6

Tea consumption

Koreans also love their tea like us, but in a slightly different fashion. While our masala chai uses milk and sugar to make it flavorful, Koreans mostly have green/herbal tea, that not only is light on the stomach, but also aids in digestion. Examples of the tea include barley, which is a caffeine free beverage, and citron tea, that is made from yuja (Korean citron). It also contains Vitamin C, and is great for the body.

6/6

Lifestyle factors

All this apart, genes also play a big role in how the Koreans look, both in terms of looks, and frame. However, not ones to rest solely on their genes, Koreans also prioritize sleep, keep themselves hydrated, and exercise on a regular basis to stay healthy. This apart, they practice calorie deficit, and mindful eating too, to stay fit.
