The celebrities have to look their best, they need to be at the top of their fitness game, which is why they must shed kilos, keep their bodies toned to play different roles or prepare for live performances. Therefore, working out and eating healthy has become their way of life and drastic weight loss or weight gain is expected from them to live their roles on the silver screen. Most of them try intermittent fasting, do rigorous exercise, resort to liquid diet, count their macros and remain in calorie deficit. They also maintain their endurance and strength. Artificial means of weight loss like liposuction, tummy tucking, slimming pills and drinks are also resorted by some of them to reduce weight. That said, here are some of the craziest weight loss journey adopted by some of the Bollywood and Hollywood actors for achieving curvaceous and fit body.

Arjun Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor transformed his body before entering the movie business. He went from 140 kilos to 87 kilos with the help of heavy weight workout, cross fit training, diet alterations and not to forget determination to never give up.

The actor says, “My mother told me every stage of your life is a journey and you will always be a constant work in progress. I understand the meaning of that now more than ever and I’m loving that I’m working towards bettering myself every damn day (sic)!”

Drew Barrymore

In February 2020, Drew Barrymore shared with her Instagram followers that she lost 20 pounds and “trained like a mother” with trainer Marnie Alton, who helped her to change her diet and exercise routine. In a “Wellness Week” Instagram post, Barrymore said she focuses on full body workouts such as cardio, abs, bands, weights and stretching. Despite great fluctuation in her weight she is fine with her body. She says “ I go up and I go down. The rollercoaster of my body is a challenging, but beautiful ride.”

Rebel Wilson

The actress, producer and comedian Rebel Wilson officially declared December 31, 2020 as her “Year of Health”. She lost almost 80 pounds and reached her goal weight. Her desire to become a mother augmented her weight loss journey. She suffered from PCOS that affected her fertility and was prescribed to shed of access weight. Her focus on high protein diet and exercise gave her a slender body. She credits the coronavirus pandemic with helping her slow down and transform “bad habits to healthier ones”.

Sara Ali Khan

Sara’s battle with weight was arduous and she spent around 18 months to make her body slim and toned. She had cut down on white food and resorted to brown meals. Her intake of salads, proteins and low carb diet helped her in her remarkable weight loss. She ate sparingly to melt off those extra kilos from her body. She was 96 kgs and now weighs 50 kgs, she was also suffering from PCOD and could control that as well with nutritious diet and exercise.

Alia lost 17kgs before she started shooting for her first film Student Of The Year. She now takes healthy diet and is calorie conscious. Alia has found out a healthier approach instead of eating junk. Her diet mostly includes all organic and healthy foods, at the same time she never misses a chance to have anything sweet. She consumes meals in small portions 6 to 8 times a day which includes lean protein, healthy fats, fruits and green vegetables. Along with diet control she never misses out on workouts.

Famous fashion designer Masaba Gupta took weight loss as a challenge and she banged on healthy habits and lifestyle to reduce weight. Masaba focused on intermittent fasting for weight loss. She takes 2 large meals a day that is lunch and dinner. She consumes home cooked meals and avoids dairy products, refined sugar and fried foods. She restricted herself from consuming alcohol and prefers fruit juice, Masaba doesn’t believe in fad diets and exercises on a regular basis. She lost 10kgs in a year.

These celebrities have become unrecognisable after slimming down. Their drastic weight loss regime is an inspiration for so many of us. Consistency and dedication do pay off in the long run to achieve an irresistible figure.
