Alex as a mom, is every mother that we have known!

She never loses patience with her daughter Maddy, she is a doting daughter to her mother Paula, she is a strong headed woman who moved out of a violent relationship even when she was laughed at that domestic violence is not the same emotional abuse.

3/8

Alex as a mom, is what every mom would do to save her kid!

Maid is an ode to parenting; a tribute to the mother who dared to move out of a relationship even when she did not have anything in hand. Maid is the story of a mother who did not hesitate to buy a 'Schmariel' for her daughter from a dollar store even when she had only little more than 2 dollars left with her.

4/8

Alex as a mom, is whom poverty and penury can't distract!

Alex took the job of a maid, cleaned smelly toilets, brushed hard stained kitchen. She even skipped going to her employer to collect her pay stub because her daughter was having a good sleep on her lap.

5/8

Alex as a mom, knows her child's likes and dislikes!

Even when she is chased by her boyfriend, she listens to her daughter's request for playing the "Shoop". Even when the stereoplayer of her car does not work properly, she beats and bangs it to play for her daughter. Even when it stops working, she sings it for her.

Even when her car was towed away after the accident she takes the recorder of the song with her. Only a mom knows her child inside-outside!

6/8

Alex as a mom, makes sure her frustration never penetrates the bonding she has with her child!

Even when she is homeless, without food and no money, and under tons of stress she never takes out the frustration on her child. She listens to her every request and is always consistent in her love towards her child and devotion towards motherhood.

7/8

Alex as a mom, is the mother every Maddy needs!

Alex is the replica of millions of those moms, who despite having a troubled life always make it smooth and consistent for their child.

For all those "Maddy" out there Alex is the mom they need to sail through the toughest phase of life.

8/8

Motherhood is unique!

I feel, Maid has captured the beauty of motherhood in the most accurate manner. Just when I was still trying to overcome the emotional tremor that I had been under after watching "The Handmaid's Tale", "Maid" gave another jolt and perspective to my knowledge about motherhood.

To all mothers who are reading this, take a bow!
