The 3-letter words child psychologists suggest you use

Parenting can be a difficult process, but parenting during a pandemic sure might have taken a toll on a lot of people. In terms of stress, parents and children have equally faced a lot of challenges during these troubled times. However, in order to ease your anxiety and regulate your state of mind, child psychologists have come up with a way that will help you and your kids in the long run. That being said, neither do you have to go an extraordinary mile to please your child or make grand efforts to help them engage and learn new things. All you have to do is use these 3-letter words while interacting with your kids and witness a blossoming of a new relationship between you and your child.

Here are the 3-letter words you must use, as recommended by child psychologists.

2/6

And

As much as we take the word for granted, while interacting with the kids, it can be as helpful. By using the 3-letter word ‘and’, we can impart a lot of promise and also a sense of belief in our children. Without creating an element of doubt, with the help of ‘and’, we can make two seemingly contradictory ideas seem right at the same time – which not only conveys our message but also guides the child in the right direction.

3/6

Yet

‘Yet’ is a very hopeful word. It can transform a totally futile sentence into something that is full of hope and promise. For a child, that can make a lot of difference. Hope is what a child seeks in everything and this particular 3-letter word subconsciously delivers a sense of hope and aspiration in them.

4/6

Why

‘Why’ is a very effective word to use by parents, especially in times of dilemma and doubt. Not only does it make you question your actions and inactions in a particular situation, but also helps you figure out a way to deal with them. Whether to analyse your behavior at a certain time or to understand your child’s attitude in particular situations, ‘why’ is a great word to use.

5/6

Pre

Change is the only constant and whether it’s about your child or yourself as a parent, understanding the pre-stages of change can help you deal with a lot of things. Therefore, according to psychologists, the 3-letter word ‘pre’ reminds us that we’re always growing, changing, and evolving.

6/6

Ish

‘Ish’ is a powerful suffix, a 3-letter word that makes the child believe in the joy of creation rather than attaining perfection. For instance, if a child is unaware of drawing a flower, it is always right to tell them that they can draw something that is flower-ish. This gives them the power to try and see for themselves whether they can or cannot. Even when it comes to parents, ‘ish’ can be a helpful word. While many parents wear themselves off constantly worrying about their children and approach to parenting, ‘ish’ can relieve them from such thought. Rather than focusing on achieving perfection, it encourages them to try and make an attempt.
