Holi shenanigans…

Undoubtedly, Holi is one of the most colourful and fun-filled festivals celebrated in our country. Whether it is because of music, colours, water-filled balloons, dance or bhang, we all might have experienced or been part of some crazy banter on this festival at least once in our lifetime. We asked people about the funniest experience they ever had with their partner on Holi, and here’s what they shared.

Surprise went wrong

“This happened last year. We were newly married and it was our first Holi. I surprised my wife by putting colours (not the herbal ones) on her face the moment she woke up. Instead of smiling and wishing me Happy Holi, she started crying hysterically. After a few minutes, she literally shouted me saying that she has acne and her face would be full of pimples within a few hours. She did not talk to me for that entire day.”

Bhang did its magic

“I drank four glasses of thandai (a milk-based drink with bhang) on Holi two years back. Strangely, I did not remember anything that happened afterwards and later, my girlfriend showed me the videos where I was dancing without music for almost an hour and was insisting my girlfriend to do the same. It was the first and last time I ever had thandai.”

Bathed thrice in a day

“I played Holi for six hours with my wife last year. I clearly remember I had to bath thrice because every time I stepped out of washroom thinking I am done playing Holi, she would bombard me with water balloons and colours. It was a crazy day and we still laugh remembering it. ”

We had a mud fight

“It happened in my 12th standard. We were not allowed to take colours or balloons to school and play Holi. But my girlfriend and I were ardent that we had to celebrate the festival as it was our last one in school. We spotted a construction site near our school and played Holi with sand. We had a mud fight and by the end of it, we could not recognise each other’s faces”

6/6

Played with grease, eggs and oil

“Three years back, my wife and I played Holi with everything except colours. We used eggs, grease, oil, paint and even cow dung, and it was really a messy affair. It took me two days to clean my entire house.”
