7 women confess what makes them reject a profile on dating apps

The world of online dating

If you feel confused about what goes on in a woman’s mind while accepting or rejecting profiles on a dating app, this story is a must read for you. We asked seven female users things in a profile that turn them off and make them swipe it left without a second thought. Here are a few candid confessions they had to share.

2/8

Photographs with too many filters

“We all use filters on our photographs to look better but there is a section of people who use filters to completely change the colour of their complexion or use editing apps to increase their height and enhance their features. It shows that user is not confident about his body and is trying to dupe others. Why should I swipe such a man right?”

3/8

Guys on a bragging spree

“Some men literally brag about their lifestyle in their bio. I recently came across one where he was talking about his amazing bedroom skills and asked ‘dumb’ girls to not swipe him right. He further mentioned he is a ‘sapiosexual’ and interestingly, his bio had grammatical errors. All I could say was ‘lol’ and swipe him left. ”

4/8

Where do you work?

“I have a personal policy of not dating anyone who works in my office. So whenever I come across a man on a dating app who works with the same organisation as mine, I swipe left the profile.”

5/8

The name matters too!

“I find it weird to date someone who shares the same name as of my ex-partner, sibling or parents. Once I came across a really cool guy on a dating site but had to swipe his profile left because he and my ex have the same name.”

6/8

A particular zodiac sign

“It might sound funny but I sometimes reject the profile of men because of their star sign. I am a Sagittarian and share almost zero compatibility with signs like Capricorn, Cancer and Scorpio. In fact, I met my ex-partner, who is a Scorpio, on a dating app and we had a terrible relationship.”

7/8

Those who don’t write a word in their bio

“Your bio is the only way to introduce yourself to a stranger on a dating app and tell what you are looking for. When a man cannot make the effort to write 20 words about himself, how can you expect someone to swipe right his profile? Also, those who use SMS language and write words ‘lyk dis’ are a big turn off. ”

8/8

Weird selfies or gym photos

“I find people who put their gym selfies or snapshots of their sweaty bodies as attention seekers. I recently came across a profile where the guy had clicked a mirror selfie in a gym’s changing room and was wearing only a towel. Isn’t that gross? ”
