Masturbation myths

Masturbation is something all doctors recommend. It is great for relieving stress besides treating sexual frustration. Not only that, many women say that it helps them feel more confident about their body too. However, there are several myths surrounding the notion of masturbation and some are seriously absurd. To know what these myths are, scroll down and try to turn on your logical side of the brain.

2/5

You should not masturbate in a relationship

This myth is completely bogus as masturbation is normal and necessary for your mental health too. It is not cheating on your partner if you masturbate because if you are in a mood, it does not mean that your partner should be too. So, to satisfy yourself, you can and you should masturbate.

3/5

It makes you infertile

This is a common thought that masturbation makes men infertile and it is a myth for sure. It in no way decreases your sperm count. What you need to know is that the majority of sperms regenerate in 12-24 hours. Unless you are doing it 4-5 times a day, you are good. As per a study in 2016, men who ejaculate 21 times per month have lower chances of developing prostate cancer.

4/5

It blinds you

If this is the case, the entire world would be almost blind! Interestingly, this myth came up when people believed that sex is for having kids only and that it should not be practiced otherwise. In reality, this is a baseless myth.

5/5

Masturbating while pregnant is wrong

Sex at a certain stage may be harmful depending on the position but masturbation is not. It is never wrong unless you do it in public! However, it is recommended that you speak to your gynae. Your doctor would be able to bust some myths and even give you that mental satisfaction.
