Confessions of women who pretend to enjoy intimacy with their husbands

Women do pretend and here's what they do

In the secret corners of intimate relationships, some women grapple with the silent act of pretending to enjoy moments of closeness with their husbands. These honest confessions give a glimpse into emotions and societal pressures that shape their experiences behind closed doors and many may be able to relate with them.

“Internal conflicts are going on between societal norms and genuine feelings”

Raised in a conservative environment, it was ingrained in me that I had to be that perfect wife. I care deeply for her husband, but certain aspects of my intimate life are challenging for me. Fearing judgment and misunderstanding, I often put on a façade, engaging in acts that I think will please him. Every day I have a sense of internal conflict going on between societal norms and her genuine feelings, questioning whether my sacrifice is sustainable in the long run or not.

3/5

My husband’s bank account keeps me afloat

I pretend to be that wife my husband wanted because I hail from a financially challenged family. I have to bring up 2 younger sisters so that they never experience what I am going through. I feel that pressure to please my husband down to the T but I know that the day my husband realises that I am not there totally, he can cheat or divorce me. So I have been living a lie and I intend to do so so that my sisters get out of that forced rut ever since our parents died. He is nice to me too although internally I am a very different person, a side he has no clue about.

4/5

I knew that I cannot have my cake and eat it too

I am a natural people-pleaser, and I have accepted the fact that I cannot be happy unless I accept my position. I knew that I could not have my cake and eat it too. It was more of a marriage of convenience since he was looking for a mother to his son and I wanted a stable marital home. I keep him happy, he keeps me happy. I consistently feign enjoyment during intimate moments. I prioritize his happiness over my own, I do have internal conflicts but then he tries too, so that’s okay.

5/5

I cannot leave because my kids

My children are my life. I cannot imagine separating from them and I know that if I leave my husband, it will be all over. I had an arranged marriage and my husband turned out to be everything I despise in a man. The first time he got intimate with me, I was just there and then I conceived my son. Ever since, I am just physically there with him and I pretend to be all in when I am screaming inside. I have found a way to vent out that anger in dance and yoga. Women make many sacrifices but again it is my choice to be in this state.
