4 rules you must keep in mind

Who doesn’t want to be happy their entire life? All of us keep looking for that one thing in life be it through small moments or achievements. Harvard’s Grant and Glueck study tracked two different demographics and revealed 4 secrets to long term happiness. Scroll down quickly and be ready to inculcate them in your life for a happier 2022 and decades to come.

2/5

You must have someone you can rely on

As per the study, they found that you need that someone you can rely on and relax with. It is a major factor that either eases your life or pushes you into an abyss of sadness. The fact that you have someone, works on the emotional stress, calms down the nervous system and even slows down ageing. That close knit group of friends or family members is very crucial here.

3/5

Spending time with family

It is important to have those long, in-depth conversations sometimes with your siblings and that fun family banter every now and then. It makes for a perfect recipe for happiness. Friends are important but your family is root, rest are all branches.

4/5

Choosing the right coping mechanisms

It is very easy to get into addictions be it of food, drugs, cigarettes, alcohol or even porn. This does nothing but add to the negativity especially when you are experiencing the low in your life’s rollercoaster. Get into some good, value adding activities instead. Write about your stress and vent it out. Try working out, meeting friends or long baths but restrain yourself from falling for the addictions. Affirmations is one route that many take and it makes them happy and brings them on track.

5/5

Self love

It all begins with self love in the end. If you do not love yourself, your own company, you will not be able to lead a healthy and happy life. Practicing gratitude, sleeping on time and for the right amount of hours, eating healthy and even reducing screen time, affects your happy quotient.

Those who did practice it all, are happy humans and lead a fulfilling life. Think positive and always be optimistic.
