What makes employees hate their bosses

There are good bosses and bad bosses. A good boss is someone an employee wants to work for and a bad boss is never respected, let alone wanting to toil for them. Here are 5 such bad habits of bosses that ruin their reputation and make the employees hate them to the point of toxicity.

2/6

He/She does not talk on the phone

Some bosses have the habit of not talking to their employees on the phone and hold conversations only on messages. This sometimes reflects badly on their employees as it shows either his/her’ lack of interest or it escalates misunderstandings or gaps in communication.

3/6

He/She forgets the employee’s name

Once or twice, it is human error to forget a name, but if this happens constantly, you are showing the employee that he/she is not a person with an identity. It reflects lack of caring and it eventually leads to your employee feeling unimportant.

4/6

He/She takes credit for the employee’s ideas

This is the worst kind of boss! Employees feel betrayed and this is nothing but an example of lack of leadership skills. It shows how the boss is low on ethics.

5/6

He/She is not meeting the employees

Unless it is a health emergency that has restricted meeting your colleagues, once a month or two or even in six months, it is important that the boss meets the employees physically. In case that is not possible, a fun team meet keeps the employees going every once in a while. No work should be discussed, just fun banter. If the boss is not doing so, it shows how uninterested he/she is in the team.

6/6

He/She does not see the employee’s achievements

Today when people are overworked, delivering more than required, not seeing how the employee is performing and achieving goals, is a reflection of an inconsiderate boss. It is very important that you notice all employees working under you. Do not just take them for granted because a good employee is hard to get and easy to lose by not paying proper attention to them.
