Why millennials are less productive while working from home

The current generation, also known as millennials find it very difficult to work remotely. As the pandemic continues, many companies and businesses have still enforced the work-from-home model. With increasing dependence on technology, millennials are facing regular health problems and lack of focus in work. Let’s find out what are the observations.

2/6

Only 60% of millennials feel productive during WFH

Millennials have been facing a tough time with working from home. They feel less connected to their team and employers and face difficulties in trying to communicate appropriately with their colleagues. The virtual connect may prove to be efficient in certain situations but isn't effective for millennials, at all, especially when it comes to interacting effortlessly with their team.

3/6

Increased feelings of anxiety

It has been reported that millennials have been feeling way more anxious and drained when it comes to working from home. Their lack of communication arises anxiety, self-doubt, hints of depression and self-esteem issue. Most of them highly doubt their capabilities as a working individual because most of the times, they don’t get the status of their work report.

4/6

Unavailability of team managers at crucial moments

It is understandable that team managers and bosses can’t be around at all times to tend to their employees’ well being because the pressure and demand for work are high as compared to physical office work. But millennials have been facing the brunt because they don’t have a guiding figure to turn to when things get rough at their side. They are not able to communicate freely with their managers.

5/6

Working domain isn’t well enough

Millennials have larger problems while working from home, because for some, staying at home all the time with family around can pose a serious threat to their much-needed privacy. Further, they might be cramped in a small room working all day to meet the demands of higher productivity at work. Studies across the world suggest that millennials face the most problems in adapting to their remote environment, with parents and family obstructing their independence and freedom. Simply put, ‘their homes drive them crazy.’

6/6

The need to feel in control

Stuck in their homes, and due to insufficient communication with peers, these millennials hate the feeling of not being the one in control. This generation of adults have a higher need to control but due to the distractions in their current environment, they lose focus and their concentration. They consider this period to be a moment of crisis where they are losing out on their prime years of activity and work productivity.

utter nonsense, these millennials are inherently indisciplined and just know how to give excuses for non-performance , whether working at home or office.
