Inside Margot Robbie’s beauty philosophy: Simplicity, skin prep and self-confidence
Margot Robbie, our very own “Barbie” is the kind of star whose presence makes Hollywood feel a little more effortless. From lighting up the screen in Barbie, The Wolf of Wall Street to stepping onto the red carpet with her signature understated glow, the star never forgets to carry a mix of glamour and ease that feels very human.
Recently her film the Wuthering Heights, made headlines with various debates, discussions on toxic love, daring costumes and the discourse.
But what does the actress follow for her beauty regime?
The Aussie beauty’s flawless complexion is something that fans have long admired for its natural glow and understated elegance.
As reported by Women's Health, the truth is though, in true Australian fashion, she keeps it laidback when it comes to her real-life makeup preferences, even at big events like premieres and award shows.
“I always end up wearing more monochromatic, natural looks,” Robbie has said.
When Vogue UK asked Robbie what beauty advice she’d give her 16-year-old self, her answer was to wear less makeup, especially because she favors an ‘au naturel’ look these days.
“I remember hitting that age and thinking I needed to wear tons of makeup because I was old enough to wear it,” Robbie said.
“I think it’s a confidence thing, you have your mask on all the time. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten more confident to wear less. Now I’ll happily just go for dinner wearing tinted moisturizer.”
“I always start by cleansing in the shower, I don’t do too many steps because I genuinely don’t have that much time, but I’m anal-retentive about having really clean skin,” Robbie told Vogue UK.
“Especially with my job, where they just layer makeup on and on and on.”
She said, “The funniest thing was last year backpacking in the Philippines, my best friend, Soph, and I were getting these treatments where we were in this hut being absolutely slathered in clay, and we got wrapped up in banana leaves and essentially left there for three hours,” Robbie told Byrdie.
“And after a while, the whole situation was so ridiculous that we looked like Tutankhamun mixed with a fruit bowl, like it was just the most absurd thing, and we had an absolute laughing fit.” You know what they say? Laughing is the best medicine, and the quickest way to a gorgeous, natural flush.
She applies under eye patches for depuffing her orbital area before getting her “face” on for the day.

Take of your make-up before going to bed
Margot Robbie is very against going to bed with your make-up on; that's bare minimum in skin care! Multitasking is her game which is quite visible when it comes to washing her face.“I always start by cleansing in the shower, I don’t do too many steps because I genuinely don’t have that much time, but I’m anal-retentive about having really clean skin,” Robbie told Vogue UK.
