Kangana Ranaut's home is a true Himachali abode with a modern twist: Art inspirations to take away

Kangana Ranaut is someone who beautifully embraces and represents her roots, and the true belonging to her home in Himachal Pradesh, rightly reflected through her wardrobe, how she represents the diversity as an MP from Mandi, and her home cradled in the lap of mesmerising mountains.

Her abode is not just a private residence; it beautifully represents the heritage, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to local Himachali culture- where her heart truly is!

The structure of the house itself speaks of the rugged beauty of the Himalayas, with large glass surfaces framing sweeping mountain views, sloping roofs suited for heavy snow, and interiors that look warmer and more vintage than overly polished.

Here are a few art inspirations to take away from Kangana Ranaut’s home

Glass house with a scenic mountain terrace view

Kangana’s home has a dedicated ‘glass conservatory’ that is made completely of glass walls from top to bottom to open the interior toward the Himalayas. It is lined with warm light bulbs and on the roof, a scrap recycled tractor front table top, and a cart-shaped tea table, which add to the rustic and vintage feeling, making it just the right evening and morning recharge and rejuvenate spot amid the mountains.Photo: @theorangelane/ Instagram

A classic book rack with lower shelves for firewood storage

One of the walls of her living area is lined with a sea green coloured classic book rack with dedicated lower shelves designed specifically for storing wood for the fireplace.

This is a smart, functional design that helps combine utility with style and also helps keep the mountain lodge style of the house intact. Instead of piling logs in a corner, Kangana’s design uses smart storage in the furniture itself, and makes the room look aesthetic by making the wood part of the room.Photo: @kanganaranaut/ Instagram

A modern indian himachali mountain lodge–inspired barplace

The bar area in Ranaut’s Manali home is a balance of traditional Himachali style and contemporary design. The interiors are lined with old timber, heavy wooden beams, and warm, dark wood flooring, just like classic Kath-Kuni mountain homes. White window panes, lined paneling, and woven pendant lights give it a more local design touch.

The bar counter is painted in calm colours like sage green, warm wood, and beige that make the space feel cozy and relaxing without being very loud.

Dedicated photo wall with locals and indigenous touches

Kangana’s home staircase area has a special photo wall that includes multiple photos of Himachali locals and indigenous culture. But what adds to the main character of this wall are the traditional Himachali family trinkets pinned amid the photos.

She chooses photographs and objects that reflect real lives, customs, and craftsmanship. You can create your own version by collecting photos of local artisans, farmers, festivals, or family members, and placing them with your own handmade trinkets.Photo: @photovila1/ Instagram
