This budget-friendly Asian country has become ‘Most Booked International Destination in 2025’
In a recent update, Thailand has become the most Booked International Destination in 2025, as per reports. The country has surpassed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take the lead position, as per data revealed by online travel platform MakeMyTrip. It is a significant shift in travel preferences which reflects Thailand’s growing attraction among outbound travellers from India.
The website’s year-end booking trends cover trips planned between December 20, 2025, and January 5, 2026. It shows that Thailand has gone ahead of the UAE which is a classic choice of travellers. But with this new update, UAE now has second place on the list, followed closely by Vietnam.
Reasons behind:
Short-haul appeal: Thailand’s proximity and relatively easy flight connectivity make it a first choice among Indian travellers looking to maximise holiday time without long flights.
Visa: Getting a Thailand visa is not a big complicated task. It is an easy process which helped fuel travel demand.
While domestic travel remains a strong competitor, with Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan ranking high on domestic booking lists, pilgrimage and spiritual journeys are also gaining attention.
