This also translates to valuing personal space.

3/6

Second on the list is Denmark, where the "hygge" lifestyle is much followed. About half the population (50%) is single, often waiting until their thirties to get married. The Danish welfare state also provides a safety net that makes marriage a choice for many people instead of a financial necessity.

4/6

Finland (49% Single)

Third on the list is Finland. It has 49% of single population, as per the data. The high single rate is a testament to "sisu," that famous Finnish grit and self-reliance. Finland has a culture where silence and personal space are respected. And so, many people find comfort in solitude. Young adults here prioritise their ownselves and choices, over traditional family structures.

5/6

Germany (48% Single)

In Germany, especially in hubs like Berlin, solo living a bit of an art form. There’s a strong sense of autonomy here, where women are high-earning and divorce is completely normalised. For many Germans, the freedom of being single is the ultimate definition of modern success.

6/6
