When is Padmini Ekadashi 2026 May? Check date, parana time and significance
Ekadashi is the most significant day in Hindu religion. This is one of the most auspicious days to worship Lord Shri Hari Vishnu. In order to receive benefits, people pray to Lord Vishnu. On the eleventh day of Shukla Paksha, or Ekadashi Tithi, in the month of Jyeshtha, Padmini Ekadashi will be observed. Adhika Jyeshtha Padmini Ekadashi fast will be observed on May 27, 2026.

The significance of Padmini Ekadashi is mentioned in the Skanda Purana, and Lord Krishna gave Dharmaraj Yudhisthira explicit instructions on how to observe the Vrat. On Padmini Ekadashi, it is believed that you can atone for all of your past and present transgressions. It is imperative that you observe Padmini Ekadashi on the eleventh day of the Adhika month if you are looking for a place in the Vaikunta Dham, which is renowned for being Lord Vishnu's residence.
1. Take a bath after waking up early during Brahm Muhurat.
2. It is forbidden to take a bath with soap on the day of Ekadashi, therefore be careful not to use any kind of body cleanser or soap.
3. After cleaning your puja space, install an idol of Lord Vishnu, Bal Gopal, Shaligram, and Shri Yantra (the sign of Goddess Laxmi) on a wooden plank.
4. Give them a panchamrit bath and adorn them with yellow clothing, flowers, and tulsi mala.
5. Light a diya with desi ghee and incense sticks, offer sweets, various fruits, tulsi patra, panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar powder).
6. Recite Vishnu Sahastranaam and chant the Maha Mantra, "Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye".
7. Giving to charity on this day is seen as fulfilling.
8. In the evening, worship the tulsi plant by burning an earthen lamp close to it and, if you can, walking around it seven times.
9. On Ekadashi, avoid picking tulsi patra, or basil leaves. To keep it fresh, devotees can pick it the day before Ekadashi and store it in water.
