Brydon Carse to Adam Zampa, Wow. Test-match stuff. More evidence of the pace and bounce that Brydon Carse brings in his repertoire. This one lifts from a length, outside off, Zampa tamely fends it away, with his bat hanging in the air. In Tests, this would have gone straight to gully but we don't see a gully usually in white-ball cricket. The ball goes to deep third. Another nothing ball, but everything to gain for England from it. It is a length delivery, on the pads, Mitchell Starc looks to flick it casually and connects nicely as well. But he cannot clear square leg and it is a simple catch for Matthew Potts again! Forget how much Australia can get, how many overs can they face from here on?
This could end quickly now. Mitchell Starc walks in at number 9, replacing Aaron Hardie.
Enough of part timers. Brook gets back to his main bowlers. Brydon Carse is back on. 6-0-63-1 so far.
Brydon Carse to Aaron Hardie, OUT! CAUGHT! The bowling change works immediately and a big smile flashes across Brook's face. Carse has been expensive today but he will take those two wickets - first Head and now, Hardie. A short ball, outside off, Aaron Hardie immediately sets himself up for the pull, But he is completely done in by the pace, which is more than 90 miles per hour. Additionally, Carse gets a good lift from the bumper and as a result, the pull shot attempted results into a massive top edge. The ball goes straight up in the air and Matthew Potts waits calmly for it at short mid-wicket. Another budding stand of 55 has been broken as Hardie departs for 23 (25). Australia are 216/7 with 89 balls still left in the innings.

DRINKS BREAK. Excellent passage of play for England. This seems like a good pitch to bat on from the offset but batting is not exactly easy. Australia have been desperate to go hard at the ball but it is not quite coming onto the bat consistently. And it does not help when batters get set and then throw it away. England have done what Australia haven't - shown patience. They have kept the ball around the stumps mostly, not given too much width and just frustrated the batters into throwing it away. Of course, they have earned the wickets of Short and Smith through excellent deliveries but most of the dismissals have been due to the pressure built. From 59/1 at the end of 10, the next 22 have gone for just 123 and yielded 5 wickets. One does feel that 250 could be tricky on this surface to chase, given that Josh Hazlewood will find the pitch tailor made for him. But to get to 250, Australia will have to work hard, primarily, bat out their 50 overs. And to kill all doubts whether LIAM LIVINGSTONE will bowl or not, here he is.

Fractionally short, outside off, Carey rocks back and punches it through the massive gap between mid off and sweeper cover.
