India vs New Zealand WTC Final Highlights: India 146/3 as bad light forces early stumps on Day 2

A solid batting performance led by skipper Virat Kohli (44*) and his deputy Ajinkya Rahne (29*) took India to 146 for 3 at stumps with the duo adding unbeaten 58 runs for the fourth wicket.

A sensible and cautious start from both the India openers Rohit Sharma (17*) and Shubman Gill (11*). There have been a few play and misses in the first 8 overs but Rohit and Gill have been positive. Both have shown responsibility in the first 30 minutes of the session, taking on the challenge from Tim Southee and Trent Boult in these overcast conditions.

Trent Boult digs the ball in short. Shubman Gill gets on to the backfoot and over the ball. Pulls it in style to the mid-wicket region to pick up the first boundary of the match. IND 16/0 after 5.4 overs

Just a single from the Trent Boult's second over. Both the India openers are off the mark now. With the single in the over, Shubman Gill scored his first ever runs in England.

Nerves from Shubman Gill, survives a run out early

Rohit Sharma once again tucks the ball to square-leg and Shubman Gill, at the non-striker's end took off immediately, not realising Neil Wagner was charging in at the ball. Turns around just in time. A big dive from Gill and it just saves him.

Tim Southee not finding the radar in his first over. Was way outside the line on either sides of the wicket. Although, we saw some swing and seam movement. Trent Boult to share the new ball with Southee from the other end.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are in the middle to open the India innings in this big-ticket WTC Final. Both Rohit and Gill will be opening against New Zealand for the very first time. We'll bowl first. Conditions, with the weather around, hopefully we can make the most of it. Saying that, wicket will be consistent throughout the game going by the cool weather. Have gone for four frontline seamers. No spinner. Great occasion and great challenge against the best team in the world. First time a WTC final, guys are really excited. A big player for us and a real leader within our group (Watling). Great occasion for him playing his last game. Great to be in this position. Two years trying to qualify - for us, we're fortunate to be here.

We would've probably bowled first as well. But runs on the board has been our strength. In a big final, runs on the board, however many, are an advantage. As you saw the makeup of our side, the balance is such that we prepare for any conditions. We've been performing really well in Test cricket. For us this is just a Test match we have to be professional in, have to follow our processes.
