IND vs ZIM, 5th T20I Highlights: India beat Zimbabwe by 42 runs, clinch five-match series 4-1

India vs Zimbabwe, T20 Live Score: India secured a 4-1 series victory against Zimbabwe in the five-match T20I series, winning the final match by 42 runs in Harare on Sunday.

Sanju Samson's crucial 58 off 45 deliveries, along with his 65-run partnership with Riyan Parag (22 runs), helped India post a competitive total of 167 for 6.

The Indian bowling attack, led by pacer Mukesh Kumar's impressive 4/22 and all-rounder Shivam Dube's 2/25, successfully restricted Zimbabwe to 125 in 18.3 overs, sealing the win for the visitors.

India faced early setbacks while batting first, losing openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (12), Abhished Sharma (14), and skipper Shubman Gill (13) within the first five powerplay overs, leaving them in a precarious position at 40/3.

However, Samson and Parag's partnership stabilized the innings and laid the foundation for a defendable total.

Feel quite alright now. I have put in the hard yards over the past month. I had a knee issue, quite happy to be back in the team. Quite a lot of lessons you take from playing in the leagues. You come across a lot of coaches and fitness trainers. You get to learn a lot of things. At the end of the day, you want to do the simple things better.

IND vs ZIM Live score: Pitch Report - Same pitch as yesterday. It remains a belter. If you give width, batters will take full toll. It looks quite hard, very few footmarks on display. 150 is not enough, 180 would make for a great game.

(On being part of the World Cup winning squad) The emotions are still going through. The photos are still around. It was an unbelievable experience. I couldn't stop smiling. Very fortunate to be part of the team. Credit to everyone who contributed. It was a complete team effort. (This series) We might be making some changes, there might be some shuffle in the batting order, hoping to get some time in the middle. (IPL experience) I have been leading RR for the last four years. There have been some legends. I take care of legends and youngsters. You understand cricket a bit more. When you are a captain, you think about other players and other teams as well. I have been getting better.

We were looking to bat first anyway. Our spinners have bowled well and the fast bowlers have been economical. The players have been hungry. It's not easy to play back-to-back matches. Couple of changes. Mukesh Kumar and Riyan Parag come in

We are gonna have a bowl first. The wicket will get better when we bat second. Not difficult at all, the motivation is there, the confidence is there and the skillset is there. We want to do well and finish the series on a high. Brandon Mavuta comes in. Chatara has been rested, he's played four games in a row and we have a Test match coming up.

I think because the wicket was a touch on the slower side, we thought 160 was a par score, but 180 wouldn't have been enough. Today is the day you hold your heads high and say they batted better

IND vs ZIM Live score: 'Today is the day to hold ... '
After being handed a 10-wicket thrashing by India in the fourth T20I at the Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza said Saturday’s match warrants one to doff their hat to the scintillating batting display from Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Shubman Gill.

Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed took 2-32 in a collective bowling show for India to keep Zimbabwe to 152/7 in 20 overs. Raza stepped up to take Zimbabwe out of a mid-innings wobble and take them past 150 with a 28-ball 46, laced with two fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 164.29.

But in reply, Jaiswal (93 not out) and Gill (58 not out) carried their bats throughout the chase to hunt down the target in just 15.2 overs and get a big win as well as the series with 28 balls to spare.

IND vs ZIM Live score: Jay Shah lauds Team India for series win
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah on Saturday lauded the Team India for the manner in which they have clinched the T20I series against Zimbabwe and said top stuff from our young guns! .

Fine half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill helped India secure a series win over Zimbabwe after beating the hosts by 10 wickets in the fourth T20I of the five-match series at Harare on Saturday.

In the match, India won the toss and put Zimbabwe on field first. A fine 63-run opening stand between Wessly Madhevere (25 in 24 balls, with four boundaries) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (32 in 31 balls, with three fours) gave Zimbabwe a steady start. Later, Indian bowlers started to take wickets at a regular rate, but skipper Sikandar Raza held one end steady with his knock of 46 in 28 balls, with two fours and three sixes. Zimbabwe posted 152/7 in their 20 overs.

IND vs ZIM Live score: 'We were only thinking ... '
We were only thinking about finishing the game and make sure that the team wins and we finish without any loss (of a wicket). The only thing in the mind was to finish the game without any loss. I really enjoyed playing today, it was an amazing experience with Shubman bhai and I really enjoyed scoring the runs. Whenever I play for India I really enjoy and feel proud. I enjoyed my process and being a part of the World Cup champion team and I learnt a lot. I was really excited. Whenever I get a chance I try my best and make sure that I am contributing for the team and winning the games for my team.

IND vs ZIM Live score: 'We wanted to finish chase without any loss'
India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that he and captain Shubman Gill were batting with the aim of winning the fourth T20I against Zimbabwe without losing any wickets, focusing on the team's victory rather than thinking about individual scores.

Chasing 153, Jaiswal and Gill went hammer and tongs to knock off the target in 15.2 overs, recording only the second instance of India beating Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in a T20I on Saturday.

IND vs ZIM Live score: Zimbabwe bowling
There was no way that Zimbabwe could have stopped the run-feast as towards the end, the bigger interest was whether the two flag bearers of Indian batting into the next decade could reach their individual milestones of half-century and century.

It was Gill, who got his fifty and that didn't leave Jaiswal with enough runs to complete his hundred.
13:36 (IST) Jul 14
IND vs ZIM Live score: Fiery Jaiswal
Jaiswal, who had to sit out during the T20 World Cup campaign hardly looked rusty, playing shots all around the wicket.

The thumping bowler's back-drive off rival skipper Sikandar Raza was delightful and equally stylish was the pick-up pull off Richard Ngarava for a six.

The lack of pace in Zimbabwean attack on a good wicket became home team's undoing as the dominant Jaiswal had reached his half-century with nine boundaries when the skipper was yet to reach 15.
13:35 (IST) Jul 14
IND vs ZIM Live score: India secure series with 3-1 lead
Yashasvi Jaiswal's flair was complemented by skipper Shubman Gill's poise as young Indian team cantered to a 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the fourth T20 International, taking an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

This is the second time that India beat Zimbabwe by 10 wickets after a similar-margin win at the same venue in 2016.

Jaiswal and Gill's approach was in complete contrast as the Mumbai southpaw went hammer and tongs during his unbeaten 93-run knock while the skipper (58 not out) was ready to play the second fiddle in a chase of 153 which was completed in 15.2 overs.

The target was made to look way easier than it should have been on a track that had good bounce and carry.
