India vs England 2nd Test Day 5 Highlights: India beat England by 151 runs to take 1-0 series lead

Thrice in the last seven balls Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have gone way down the leg side. Rishabh Pant couldn't have done much on all three occasions. Free runs for England as Shami and Bumrah give away 12 byes.

This is the first time both England openers have got out for ducks in the same innings of a Test against India.

That should have been taken by Rohit Sharma at second slip. Mohammed Shami produces another peach and it takes the outside edge of Haseeb Hameed's bat. It flies to Rohit and he is late to react to it. The ball hits his wrist and goes down. India pacers asking some serious questions at the moment!

So, nine balls into the second session and India have declared their second innings at 298/8. India playing psychological games with England. They brought their players to the ground and have now declared second-over after the break. Nevertheless, a sensational batting performance from Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. They remain unbeaten on 56 and 34 respectively. England have got 272 runs to chase in the last two sessions of the Test.

Mohammed Shami scored the most important half-century of his career while Jasprit Bumrah showed tremendous application to take India to 286/8 at in their second innings as England's chances of winning the second Test match dwindled by the lunch session. Shami (52 batting, 67 balls), who hit a towering six off Moeen Ali to complete his second Test fifty, might have just given India an outside chance of even winning this Test match with an overall lead of 259 runs and a maximum 64 overs left in the game. Along with Bumrah (30 batting, 58 balls), the duo not only added invaluable 77 runs for the ninth wicket but also consumed enough overs to take one session virtually out of the equation keeping the visitors in the game after Rishabh Pant's (22) early dismissal. This was also India's highest ninth wicket stand in a Test match in England. Ishant Sharma (16) also made a nice little contribution as the tail-enders between them accumulated 98 runs, something that India have been missing before the start of the series. At the start of the fifth day, Ollie Robinson (16-6-41-2) bowled a beautifully delivery that moved late to induce an outside edge into the keeper's gloves. Ishant then got a streaky boundary off Anderson but Robinson's knuckle ball caught him plumb in-front to make it 209 for 8 when Bumrah joined Shami. However once Nos 9 and 10 were at the crease, England captain Joe Root decided to spread the field anticipating a lot of aerial shots from the duo but to his horror and his own dressing room's surprise, both were ready to put their heads down and play proper cricketing shots. They were peppered with a few short balls and Bumrah also got hit on the helmet by Wood and Anderson but he manfully carried on concentrating even more. Their 50-run stand was applauded generously by the Lord's crowd, mostly Indians but it was their change room that gave them a standing ovation.

They have now gone quite far ahead in this contest, thanks to a jaw-dropping unbeaten 77-run partnership between Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Moeen Ali completes the final over before the break. England players are gutted! Huge applause from the crowd and India dressing room as Bumrah and Shami head back to the pavilion. He is enjoying himself in the middle. Takes his helmet and raises his bat to the Indian dressing room. A scintillating knock from him. This knock will surely be remembered for a long long time!

This time Mohammed Shami goes down town. A tossed up delivery from Moeen Ali and Shami goes bang! Hits it straight down to add four more to his and India's total. Shami moves into the 40s!

A James Anderson bouncer now hits Jasprit Bumrah on the helmet. Although this one looks fine. No harm done. But going as per protocol the physio is out in the middle to attend Bumrah. IND 262/8 after 102.4 overs, lead by 235 runs

This is incredible! A stellar performance from the India tailenders! We were all hoping for a Rishabh Pant show today but Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami instead have stolen the limelight. The have now added 50 runs for the ninth wicket off 73 balls. IND 259/8 after 101.3 overs, lead by 232 runs

Timed to perfection! Jasprit Bumrah this time hits James Anderson for a boundary. On the pads from Anderson and Bumrah chips it over the mid-wicket fielder and the ball races to the fence.
