South Africa tour of India, 2025

South Africa are set to tour India for the first time since 2022, marking an eagerly anticipated bilateral series. This visit will kick off with Tests, but the tour promises a full-fledged cricketing carnival featuring Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. The last time the Proteas played a Test series in India was in October 2019, where India dominated, winning the three-match series 3-0. This upcoming series will see South Africa return to Indian soil for a Test series after six years.

As reigning WTC Champions, South Africa will be eager to test themselves against India’s formidable lineup. The two-Test series begins on November 14 at the iconic Eden Gardens, followed by the second Test in Guwahati starting November 22. After the WTC clash, both teams will contest three ODIs and five T20Is, promising a packed schedule for cricket fans.

The Indian Test squad, led by Shubman Gill, features a blend of youth and experience, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj. South Africa’s team, captained by Temba Bavuma, boasts stars such as Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, and Keshav Maharaj. With both sides bringing in their best, the series promises high-quality, competitive cricket.
