NEW DELHI: There were scary scenes at the Arun Jaitley Stadium ahead of the IPL 2026 clash between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. A net bowler was seriously injured after being hit during a practice session a day before the DC vs PBKS match.
According to a video that has gone viral on social media, the net bowler was attended to by medical staff at the stadium. An ambulance was called onto the ground, and he was placed on a stretcher before being taken to hospital.
The identity and further details of the net bowler are yet to be confirmed, and more information is awaited.
With three wins and three losses from six matches, Delhi Capitals are currently in the lower half of the table in sixth place. They face an uphill challenge against a high-flying Punjab Kings side on Saturday.
Punjab Kings, meanwhile, remain the only unbeaten team in the competition so far, sitting at the top of the standings with 11 points from six matches.
Their only dropped point came from a washed-out game against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.
