Sooryavanshi’s new admirer Goenka's advice: 'Preserve your innocence… the world will be at your feet'

Sanjiv Goenka saw the glimpse of a special future in Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after the teenage sensation produced a breathtaking knock to power Rajasthan Royals to a stunning win over Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026.

Rajasthan Royals kept their playoff hopes alive with a commanding seven-wicket win at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, successfully chasing down a massive target of 221. At the heart of the stunning chase was Sooryavanshi, who smashed a sensational 93 off just 38 balls, hammering seven fours and 10 towering sixes at an astonishing strike rate of 244.74.

The explosive knock also saw Sooryavanshi become the first Indian batter in IPL history to hit 50 sixes in a single season. After his dismissal, Dhruv Jurel anchored the chase with an unbeaten 53 off 38 deliveries, before Donovan Ferreira sealed the victory in style with a six over long-on on the first ball of the final over.




After the defeat, Goenka was seen chatting with Sooryavanshi near the boundary ropes while the teenager signed autographs for young fans. It was an unusual sight, the owner of the beaten side personally congratulating the player who had almost single-handedly ended his team’s hopes for the night. Goenka, joined by head coach Justin Langer, also stood up to applaud when Sooryavanshi walked back after falling just seven runs short of a memorable century. By then, the contest was effectively over.



Later, the LSG owner took to X to share an emotional message for the teenage prodigy, praising both his talent and maturity.


“The world has seen your talent. The nation sees the future in you. That’s already a lot of responsibility on very young shoulders, very capable ones at that. Preserve your innocence, keep honing your brilliance, and the world will be at your feet.
