NEW DELHI: After a humbling defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will aim for redemption against an equally faltering Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their upcoming IPL clash. With both teams looking to recover from recent setbacks, this match on a slower surface could be crucial in determining their season's trajectory.
RCB’s dominant display at Chepauk exposed CSK’s inability to chase big totals, shaking their fortress-like reputation.

MI vs GT Live Score Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and coach Stephen Fleming were left frustrated as their usual game plan -- either defending modest totals or chasing smaller targets -- failed to hold up. CSK’s batting lineup, now featuring MS Dhoni as a late-order batter due to Impact Substitution, struggled when required to chase beyond 175.

Against Rajasthan, however, CSK might find more breathing room. RR, under the inexperienced leadership of Riyan Parag, is also searching for consistency.
Their Indian bowling attack, led by Tushar Deshpande and Sandeep Sharma, lacks bite, and without a marquee overseas batter like Jos Buttler, their batting appears vulnerable, especially against quality spin.
For CSK, Matheesha Pathirana and Noor Ahmed have been their standout bowlers, but the Indian contingent, including Khaleel Ahmed, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja, hasn’t looked at its best.
However, Ashwin and Jadeja’s experience on a slower track could be the key against RR’s batting lineup, which often struggles against turn and uneven bounce.
With neither team at full strength, this contest presents a golden chance for CSK to regain momentum. In what could be a close battle between two inconsistent sides, Chennai hold a slight edge, given their experience in handling spin-friendly conditions.
